• CIHR Institute of Cancer Research Funding Opportunity

 

The CIHR Institute of Cancer Research and its partners have launched a new funding opportunity, Team Grant: Bringing Biology to Cancer Prevention, aimed at continuing advancements in cancer prevention research in Canada.

The total amount available for this funding opportunity is up to CA$32,000,000 and up to ¥380,000,000, enough to fund up to approximately sixteen (16) grants. The maximum amount per grant for Canadian Teams is CA$400,000 per year for up to five (5) years, for a total of CA$2,000,000 per grant.

• Pediatric Research Foundation - National Competition for Young Researchers 2025 Edition

​

The PRF's National Competition for Young Researchers offers an exceptional opportunity to young researchers at the start of their careers (10 years and less). It aims to support innovative clinical or basic research projects, with the ultimate goal improving the health of children and adolescents.

Applicants from all scientific fields are encouraged to submit an innovative project in pediatrics, whether they come from the medical field or other pediatric research disciplines such as social sciences, psychology, education, nutrition, etc.
 

Deadlines:
    - Competition date: February 1 to April 12, 2025
    - Application deadline: April 12, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
    - Announcement of winners: June 2025 (date to be confirmed)
    - Award ceremony - with donors - 9th Congrès provincial recherche mère enfant (CPRME) Fall 2025

Awards:
    - 1 Innovation grant of $60,000 ($30,000 over 2 years)
    - 3 FRP grants of $30,000 each ($15,000 over 2 years)

• SickKids Foundation-CIHR-IHDCYH New Investigator Research Grants in Child and Youth Health

The SickKids Foundation-CIHR-IHDCYH New Investigator Research Grants in Child and Youth Health program seeks to strengthen Canada's capacity and knowledge to respond to children's health challenges and needs. The grants are jointly sponsored by SickKids Foundation and the CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH). New investigators (also referred to by CIHR as early career researchers) may obtain up to three years' support for research in biomedical, clinical, health systems and services, population and public health sectors that has the potential for significant impact on children's health outcomes. Projects must be relevant to SickKids Foundation's Mission to improve the lives of children and their families in Canada and around the world.
